1. Avoid direct exposure to the sun AT PEAK HOURS between 10 am and 4 pm when the sun’s rays are strongest.
2. Seek shade, stay cool.
3. Slip on a shirt: Cover up with sun protective clothing when you’re out in the sun.
4. Slop on sunscreen: Use sunscreen and lip balm with broad-spectrum protection and a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher.
5. Re-apply sunscreen every 2 hours.
6. Slap on a hat: Cover your head with a wide-brimmed hat.
7. Wrap on sunglasses: Wear sunglasses with 100% UVA and UVB absorption to protect your eyes.
8. Avoid Tanning beds!
9. Perform regular self exams and notify your doctor if you have non-healing lesions or changes in your moles.
